BIBLE STUDY: The Power of Words: Speaking With The Voice of God and The Blessings That Follow! (Part 1)

Just how powerful is God? Is there any limit to what God can do? If God is limitless and All-Powerful, is His spoken Word any less powerful when spoken by mere humans? Let’s see what God has to say…

The Truth about the power of Faith-filled words is well established in the pages of Scripture. However, this Truth is also contrary to what society as a whole, and most popular religions believe today. Are you willing to take an honest look at what the Bible says about the spoken Word of God, even if it flies in the face of what you currently believe? If you are, prepare yourself to see something truly amazing!

Bible Study Instructions: One Nation Under God Ministries (www.onug.us) publishes and distributes weekly Bible Studies, worldwide – free of charge, to anyone who requests them, in both printed and electronic formats. Our Studies are intended to be a simple and fun way to learn the Scriptures, and are very easy to follow! We adhere to Jesus Christ’s Biblical instructions to teach and feed the flock of God portions of meat in due season, on weekly Sabbaths, and on the seven annual Holy Days throughout each calendar year (Luke 12:42 / Isaiah 28:9-10 / Matthew 13:52). Using both the Old and New Testaments, our Bible Studies are designed to present a premise, make a statement, or ask a question – followed by one or more Scriptural references. Just look up and read from your Bible the Scriptures listed. Comments following questions elaborate on the Scriptures you just read. Pray always before beginning any study of God’s Word, asking God to open both your eyes and your mind to His Truth; then Prove everything you read, is in fact the Truth, by comparing it to The Word of God (1 Thessalonians 5:21 / 2 Timothy 3:15-17). Then use the Biblical System of Checks and Balances, and SEE if both Jesus Christ, and the First Century Church of God Apostles – also Did, Said, and Taught these SAME THINGS (Galatians 1:1-12, 5:25 / 1 Peter 2:21, 25 / 1 John 2:3-6)! That’s all there is to it! Our Bible Studies are based on the King James Version, unless otherwise stated. We will be praying for your eyes to “see” (Matthew 13:11-17); and we are always available to answer any of your questions! Be Blessed, in Jesus’ Name! - One Nation Under God Ministries (www.onug.us).

Before we start today, let us again open our Bibles and ask God to guide us in the understanding of His Truth: to show us, and teach us, all the things God The Father has given to Jesus to know (John 16:13-15). Let us pray…

Father, we humble ourselves before you, our Creator. You made the worlds that we can see, and You made the worlds that we cannot see! All power and All authority are subject to You; and we admit we are nothing, and know nothing compared to Your Great Glory and Your Great Wisdom. You have existed before the world was, and before Creation began! You ordained that we should be Created in Christ Jesus - at this time in human history - for the purpose of Copying Christ, and to produce good works that are acceptable to You (Ephesians 2:10)! You will exist long after everything You have made is destroyed by Your Hand; and we long for the time when we can inhabit a new earth with You and Your Son - in the Holy City, at the end of this age (Revelation 21:1-7)! We remind You Lord, of the promise You made to us in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and will show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not!” We call out to You now Lord; and we ask You to open up our minds today; open our eyes, and our hearts - so we are able to understand the tremendous Truths, and the Mighty Power contained in Your Holy Scriptures! Show us Father, how to live not by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of Your Mouth (Matthew 4:4 / Luke 4:4 / Deuteronomy 8:3)! We ask this of you now Father, in the name of Your Son and our Elder Brother; our soon coming King: Jesus The Christ – Our Lord, and Our Savior. Amen!!!

You can’t come before God, on a Sabbath Day, and pray a prayer like that, in humble obedience and submission; and NOT have God Answer you (Mark 11:22-26)! Now verses 25-26 of Mark 11 tell us in Jesus’ own Words, that we need to forgive others – everyone and anyone out there – if they have offended you! RELEASE any animosity so it doesn’t build and hinder your prayers that we send up On High! Well, yesterday, as I was preparing this Bible Study for publication today, a former brother that I once broke bread with; began to attack me on one of our Bible Study blogs on-line. His debate of Scripture, quickly turned personal, and after repeated warnings to stop the personal attacks and to focus on Scripture; I was forced to block him from that site, as I had to do on other of our ministry’s sites in the past. His last comment was that he would do everything in his power to inform people that I was “nuts”, “a liar”, and “a false prophet”. Well, Jesus told us in Matthew 5:38-48

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth (Leviticus 24:16-23): But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy (Leviticus 24:16-23). But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect!”

Now, we must know that God didn’t change His Mind on how to handle sin, between the Old and New Testaments (Malachi 3:6 / Hebrews 13:8)! So how does one Biblically explain the perceived differences between Matthew 5:38-48 and Leviticus 24:16-23)?

In Leviticus 24:16-23 God was showing the nation of Israel How He is going to handle sin (Revelation 21:7-8 / 1 Corinthians 6:9-11); and God is still going to handle sin just like He said He would! But did you notice the words: “He that overcometh” (Revelation 21:7); “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God!!!” ???

God expects us to Overcome!, To be Justified in Christ’s Blood (at Baptism); and to be Sanctified (52/7 every Sabbath and Holy Day)! Or as Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:39, “that ye resist not evil”, “turn to him the other (cheek) also”, “let him have thy cloke also” (Matthew 5:40), “go with him twain” (Matthew 5:41), “Give to him that asketh thee” (Matthew 5:42), “Love your enemies, Bless them that curse you, Do good to them that hate you, and Pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44)!!! Why? Jesus answers in Matthew 5:45, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven!!!” “Be ye therefore Perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48)!!!

So today, I Honor and Obey Christ, and I “resist not evil”! My former brother wanted the world to know that I was “nuts”, “a liar”, and “a false prophet”; and so I walk that extra mile for him! I couldn’t allow the discourse to disrupt the internet forum; but I can give him much more exposure in this Bible Study – than he could have ever hoped to have gotten on those few blog sites.

Jesus also follows up His Command to walk the extra mile with:

“Love your enemies, Bless them that curse you, Do good to them that hate you, and Pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”; “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven!!!” “Be ye therefore Perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:44-45, 48)!!!

Lastly we must again read Mark 11:25-26, “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any (have anything against another): that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses!!!”

I want Our Father to hear and answer our opening prayer today! So I forgive my brother, and I ask anyone else who may have read his comments to also forgive him; and I ask you to join me in prayer for him, that his bitter heart may be softened and that God grant his return to our Fellowship again, in Peace and in Unity – as Christ enjoys with The Father, and as Jesus teaches us to have with Him (John 17:20-26)!!!

Now the Way is cleared for us to Behold The Father’s Glory, and The Father’s Power, which He declares to us through His Word! I hope you will remember Mark 11:22-26 whenever you pray, and apply its principles to your own life, and to your own situations – IF you want God to hear your prayers; and IF you want to activate the Power inside the Spoken Word of God (Isaiah 59:1-2)!!!

The POWER of GOD:

Looking at Scripture we see that God is able to project and exercise His Mighty Power by the “Spirit of God”; most of the time God does this by speaking with His Mouth (Genesis 1:1-13). We can see that God “said” (v:3), and that God “called” (v:5); or in other words, God used His voice to make these things so. I think it is also interesting to note that God can see, or (as v:4 states), God “saw”. God not only projects His power with His Spirit, God can perceive clearly what He does by this same force!

God makes the relationship between being able to do things by His Spirit or power, and actually “speaking” the verbal word extremely clear in Job 33:4-5. God gives His children a very clear instruction manual on how He exercises His power, and shows us how He expects us to do the same (John 13:15)!

There are other examples of God using His finger, to translate spoken words into written words (Exodus 31:18); but they are records or testimonies of the spoken words, very much as our Bibles are for us today. The Power of God is clearly released or activated by speaking and hearing the written Word!

Let’s look at another example:

The Bible says that it is impossible to please God without Faith (Hebrews 11:6). But how do we obtain this faith? The Bible answers this question in Romans 10:17. Did you see it? “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”  You cannot hear a written word; you must “speak” the written word in order for you and others to hear it! Speaking or preaching the Word of God, unlocks and activates the Power of God, to do exactly what God intends for it to do! (Let’s read: Mark 16:14-20)

- Why was Jesus not pleased by the eleven remaining disciples (v:14)? Does Hebrews 11:6 & Romans 10:17 fit here?

- Hold your place in the book of Mark, and let’s read Isaiah 55:10-11 to gain an even better understanding of how God views His spoken Word. What three things does God say His spoken Word will always do?

1)______________________________________________

2)______________________________________________

3)______________________________________________

- Now turn back with me to Mark 16:15-20, and let’s read it again, one verse at a time; but this time let’s look at, and “see” the power of speaking the Word of God in each verse!

The Power of God, through His Holy Spirit, “dwelling inside us”, is activated by our spoken words!!! Praise God! What a tremendous honor the Creator of the Universe has bestowed upon us! Jesus Christ, who was given ALL power and authority by God the Father (Matthew 28:18-20), gave that very same power to us – but we must learn how to use it, and harness the power of speaking the Word of God! (Matthew 10:1, 7-8, 20 / Luke 9:1-2, 6, 26, 34-35 / John 5:24-29).

Jesus was very clear. There is only the authority of God the Father. Jesus who existed with the Father from the beginning (a trinity does not exist [John 8:16-19]), submitted Himself to the Father’s authority in all things. Jesus was able, as a human man, to do all the things that He did; simply because He did the things The Father told Him to do, and said the things God told Him to say (John 8:25-30). If we want to be the Disciples of Christ, we will continue to do the same things we saw Christ do, and say the same WORDS we heard Christ speak- because they are from The Father (John 8:31-32)!

Learning To Activate The Power of God By The Spoken Word: You Must Have God’s Holy Spirit In You!

The Power that comes from God’s Word, and that comes from speaking the “Voice of God” (His written Word spoken by our human tongue) is available on only one side of the cross (John 15:4-5).

The cross that Jesus died on separates and divides two worlds. Think of it as a bridge between a place where people are under a curse; and a much different place, where people are freed from the curse, and are now recipients of the Blessings of Almighty God!

If we have accepted the Sacrifice of Christ, have been baptized for the remission of our sins, and received God’s Holy Spirit (the power of God) in us through the laying on of hands; we have crossed over the bridge, and are no longer under the curse (Galatians 3:13)! Once we have crossed this bridge, we will receive The Blessing of Abraham, and the promise of the Spirit through faith (Galatians 3:14)! Eternal Life is only part of this Blessing, but it is not the whole Blessing, as we shall see (Matthew 7:7-11)!

God’s Word tells us we should remain in the Liberty and in the Freedom Christ granted us; and not to become entangled again in the yoke of bondage to all the curses that existed, and the sins that ensnared us, in our former place of residence (Galatians 5:1).

Paul tells us, that when we lived in the former place (our lives before accepting Christ), the Law served to show us what sin was, that we were sinners, and that we could never be justified or receive salvation and eternal life by keeping the God’s Law alone; we needed the sacrifice and cleansing blood of Christ (Galatians 5:2-4). The Law doesn’t justify us; and it negates Grace, if we rely on it to earn salvation!

Please see our study (www.onug.us): “The Concepts of God’s Grace and The Law”, to make this more clear:

http://onug.us/content/bible-study-concepts-god%E2%80%99s-grace-law

Keeping God’s Law is a byproduct of God living in us, through the power of His Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20-21 / Titus 1:1-3, 9-11, 14-16 / John 14:15-17)! Those in Christ, obedient to His Word, through the power of the Holy Spirit within them; wait by faith for the promise or hope of eternal life (Galatians 5:5-7 / Revelation 22:14).

The Blessings of God are meant for us in this life as well (James 1:16-25):

There is no variableness in God (Romans 11:29 / Numbers 23:19). God does not change His Character or His Nature (Malachi 3:6). Remember Jesus Christ is our High Priest to show us WHO to Worship, and HOW to Worship Our Father God (John 4:22-24) – and Jesus CANNOT CHANGE; so the manner of worship, and the ways of worship, and the days of worship that Jesus taught His Disciples also cannot change (Hebrews 13:8)!!! God blessed mankind in the Garden of Eden and intended for him to prosper always! Our actions determine whether or not God Blesses us or curses us; we determine if we will continue to walk in fellowship with God, and we determine whether or not we will return to that fellowship with God – to enjoy His forgiveness, His Healing, His Blessings (2 Chronicles 7:14)!

God calls us to CHOOSE (Deuteronomy 30:19-20)! But notice there are only 14 verses of BLESSINGS; and 54 verses of CURSINGS from God – if we choose to reject God’s Great Offer (in Deuteronomy 28:1-68)!!! Most in America today, do not know that Ancient Assyria took the Northern Tribes of Israel captive and transported them to Europe – where today most of Europe and America are their descendants! God will again transport our nation’s people back to Egypt – from where He took them thousands of years ago – if we forget our History and our God!!! So says God!!!

Confuse, Divide, and Conquer!

With sin and death entering the world through Satan, and his ongoing deception and lies; is it any wonder most people today are totally confused about what the Blessings of God are, and how to activate them in our lives?

Do you view God’s Blessings as only a reaction to dust?

Today when someone sneezes, the reaction of most people will show you where God’s Blessings have been relegated to in their minds! How sad! Is that the only time and manner we know how to call on the mighty power and Blessings from on High?

God’s Blessings are His Empowerment of us! God created Adam in His image, and He Blessed Adam! God empowered Adam to walk, talk, and ACT LIKE GOD! We were made to be Blessed by God, to act like God, and one day be like God (Hebrews 2:10 / Revelation 20:6)!!! We are the CHILDREN of GOD!!! Our destiny is to grow up and be like our Father!

But just talk about your birth right, “to be Blessed by God”, in this life and beyond; and many Christians today will mock you for it. Satan has deceived so many, that they do not even know their own Father; they have never known their Father, nor The Blessings which our Father promises us – His Children (John 8:19)!

The Curse is the opposite of God’s BLESSING!

So many Christians today are living in fear. They are afraid they will lose their job, they are afraid they won’t make enough money, they are afraid of what evil men might do, they are afraid of getting sick, of getting cancer; they are afraid of dying!

F.E.A.R. (False Emotions Against Reality) is twisted faith! Fear is a lie! Jesus Christ is the Truth, the Way, the Life (John 14:6)! Jesus told us the Truth! Read it again for yourself: John 10:10-11!!! If we are in Jesus Christ, we have Life, and we have it MORE ABUNDANTLY! We are BLESSED!

There are two worlds, and we are no longer of one – if we are in Jesus Christ (Deuteronomy 30:19). If we have chosen LIFE, we are not under the curse anymore! We are under the Blessing!

Those under the Blessing Love GOD, and obey His Voice (His Word). They will, as a young child learns to do; begin to speak in the same language and with the same words that their Father does (Deuteronomy 30:20)! Praise God! That is how we activate God’s Blessing in our lives… by speaking God’s WORDS in our lives – in Faith, without doubt (Mark 11:22-26)!

When we join the Family of God, we inherit a divine account in heaven that we can tap into anytime we need to (Matthew 6:19-21). This account, or how to access the Blessings of God, is NOT public knowledge! The Bible is clear that God chooses who He will reveal this knowledge to (Matthew 11:25-27), and the Bible further states that Satan also tries to keep this knowledge away from those who dwell on the earth (2 Corinthians 4:3-6). Today most people do not know how to speak God’s Word, or how to live under God’s Blessing.

You Must Be Obedient To God In Order To Understand Him and His Ways (Psalm 111:10)! We must make a U-turn in life, as God begins to reveal that Divine Knowledge to us - or God will take that knowledge away from us (Matthew 13:11-17)! The process as outlined by Jesus is to return to Copying Christ (Luke 6:46)! Set yourself apart as Holy to God, by keeping His Holy Days (Exodus 31:12-18); examine the examples of the First Century Church of God – then emulate them (Galatians 1:8-12); lastly stop stealing the time and the money from God – which He says is His (Malachi 3:7-18)! Yes, God says most of us today DO NOT know how to speak God’s Word as He intended; or how to really LIVE (meaning Abundant LIFE – free from the Curse) under the Blessings of God!

But this was not always so. In the beginning when God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1), God created mankind to be Blessed, and to have dominion and abundance in EVERYTHING he did (Genesis 1:26-28). God walked with Adam and taught him how to speak like God, and enjoy the Blessings of God, on a daily basis - until Adam and Eve sinned (Genesis 3:8). Mankind lost the Blessing and came under the Curse. In time, mankind lost the ability to speak the Word of God, and everyone who had actually lived under God’s Blessing died...

Later, God restored the Blessing on mankind through Abraham, and to his descendants after him (Hebrews 11:8-12). Christ’s sacrifice on the cross was necessary to restore the Blessing on not only the physical descendants of Abraham, but to everyone else who would believe on the name of Jesus Christ (1 John 4:15). If God dwells in us we are part of the Anointed Body of Christ! The job of the anointing is to REMOVE the curse – to empower us in the Blessing! But we must learn HOW to activate that BLESSING; and we do that by the Power of The WORD!

Every time we see the word “Christ”, in the New Testament, it is speaking about not only the “person” Jesus; it is also referring to “The Anointing” “The Blessing” “The only who sets us apart, or sanctifies us as Holy” (Philippians 4:13). Read it also with the meaning, I can do ALL THINGS because of the ANOINTING / BLESSING is in me! His anointing made us FREE from the curse of death, poverty, lack, want, sickness and sin (Galatians 5:1).

We are supposed to be filled with the knowledge of what God wants us to know, and the knowledge of how to get what God wants us to have (Colossians 1:9). We should know:

1) What we were created to do on this earth

2) What our position in the Body of Christ is

3) Who we are in the Kingdom of God

4) How to walk in these things

We should walk worthy of our calling, pleasing God by doing so, being faithful and FRUITFUL in every good work (being blessed and INCREASING as we are obedient to what God commands, and INCREASING in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10)

God wants us to have Full Knowledge of His will; with the Spiritual Understanding to Discern His Will, Live His Will, and Walk in His Will!!! But we must do this by FAITH (Hebrews 11:6)!!!

The Power of Speaking Faith Filled Words is AMAZING (John 15:7-11)!!! The REWARD of those who Speak Faith Filled Words, and teach others to do the same; is even MORE AMAZING (1 Corinthians 15:51-58 / Daniel 12:2-3 / Revelation 20:6)!!!

The First Century Church of God is still alive and well; and we are still about our Father’s Business! We would like to Thank You for joining One Nation Under God Ministries (www.onug.us) today in the Study of God’s Word, and hope that you will continue on with us next week, for Part Two of this Lesson! We so enjoyed having you study and fellowship with us!!! Please stay in touch!

In Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name, Peace!

The sad state of affairs today is that the vast majority of Americans are Bible illiterates (Hosea 4:6). They simply have never read the book which they profess to regard as the “Word of God”. If we are to change this, we must begin using the Bible as our primary source of education, to learn about God and His teachings (Matthew 6:33).

If you have never faithfully kept God’s seventh day Sabbath holy or God’s Holy Days, the way Jesus Christ did – in the flesh, and in the fellowship of other followers of the Son of Man (Hebrews 10:25); we invite you to obediently enter into God’s rest today, and to keep the Feasts of the LORD (Hebrews 4:1-11 / Leviticus 23:1-44)! Contact us to find out where we fellowship and worship God, in your area, on His Sabbath Days (Exodus 31:12-18). We would love to hear from you and help get you started!

Join us on-line each Sabbath and Holy Day at www.onug.us where you can download our Bible Studies, or join us on facebook to listen in to our live webinar each week.

”But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one” (John 10:26-30).

Christians must learn to read the Bible, interpret the scriptures according to Biblical principles (Isaiah 28:9-10, 13), and begin to apply the precepts they learn in their walk with God. Individual study is essential; coupled with fellowship times of group study, worship, and discussions of personal insights and observations.

We strive, each Saturday, to foster an open and welcoming atmosphere where Spirit led confirmation, clarification, questions, and correction can be made in the fellowship of other students of God’s Word.

One Nation Under God U.S.A. (www.onug.us) is working to unify the body of Christ in the worship of God the Father, in the way Jesus showed us to - in Spirit and in Truth! We strive to promote rediscovery of American History, and renew in current generations the Vision and the Covenant of our Founding Fathers.
