This is the real threat faced by a 17 year old girl, in Orlando, Florida. Judge Daniel Dawson is expected to make his final judgment about which state holds jurisdiction in Rifqa Bary's case, on Tuesday, 13 October 2009.
NOW is the time for the Body of Christ to get down on their knees in prayer for this girl! And when all of us God-fearing Americans are done praying, we need to stand up and take action: physical or financial - or both!

Rifqa Bary is a 17 year old girl, from Sri Lanka, who is running for her life from her Islamic family which wants to kill her, if she will not renounce her Christian faith. Because Rifqa has accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she is now the subject of a court battle to determine if she can continue to stay in Florida (in the safety of foster care until she turns 18), or must be returned to a strong Muslim community in Ohio, where her life will be in danger.

The following is an international plea for a current urgent need for Rifqa from Jamal Jivanjee, one of her pastors from Ohio, currently in Tennessee.
Dear church,
Please take a few minutes to read this urgent request. This is time sensitive, so please don't put this off.
I come to you with a heavy heart regarding my friend Rifqa Bary.
As you might be aware, Rifqa has endured much hardship in her life, and was raised in a strict Muslim family.
Growing up in this environment, she knew the cost she was facing when she became a follower of Jesus Christ 4 years ago and entered the kingdom of God.
Up until just a few months ago, she lived the Christian life in secrecy from her parents. She literally survived, and actually thrived, in her love and devotion to Jesus by meditating on scripture and praying in the middle of the night so that her family would not catch her. While she lived in fear of abuse and even death, her love for Jesus was greater.
As a result, Rifqa was not willing to deny her love for Jesus, even when faced with death.
As you may know, Rifqa's parents discovered that she was a Christian and her worse fear came true. In addition to threats of physical violence and death, Rifqa's parents threatened to take her back to Sri Lanka and place her in an asylum to "convince" her to convert back to Islam. Apostasy in Islam is a very serious offence, and brings shame on the family. I am convinced that if she was not able to escape, she would either be dead by now, or undergoing tremendous abuse in a facility overseas. She escaped out of the hope that she could serve Jesus openly.
Today, there is a literal battle occuring for her life.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Scripture implores us to speak and defend those who cannot speak for themselves.
I am convinced that God is using this situation to shake awake the American Church as well as free many Muslims, but time is running out for Rifqa!
Rifqa's next court date is October 13th, and the case against her is looking stronger each day. I usually don't implore or beg for money, but I am now. From one member of the family of God to another, I am asking for your help on behalf of our fellow sister in Christ. We have become aware of an URGENT need to raise $10,000 in regards to Rifqa's situation.
We cannot get into specifics because of the sensitivity of the case, but she does need this money ASAP. Please consider doing something. No gift is too small, or too large. I am convinced that if each believer and church community does something, this will be taken care of quickly. There are deadlines fast approaching for Rifqa, and this money is needed immediately. Many have asked what else they can do in addition to pray.well this is it! A trust fund has been set up for Rifqa for this very purpose.
